Happy 2010 to everyone!

I'm glad to put another year under my belt, and I'm happy to say I was pretty productive in 2009.  I created my best portrait ever (in my humble opinion) of my friend Todd Kerns titled "In Todd We Trust".  His music has inspired me a great deal, and this watercolor portrait of him shows that quite clearly.  I don't think I've captured anyone as well.

I've created a few more art cards, namely "Billy the Squid" and "Shrimp on the Barbie".  These are cards are done totally for fun, so I can't say they are my best works, but fun nonetheless.

I did several great shows with my fellow artists in Vegas Artists Guild, namely a show at the College of Southern Nevada in May and how our always popular anniversary party at McMullan's Irish Pub in October.  The Guild is getting very well known in the art world and lots of people are seeing our growth as reproduce more and more fine work.  This year we will look forward to another show at CSN, an exhibit at Clark County Library on Charleston and possibly a weekend show at Mount Charleston.

Music played another role in my life as I not only saw the Sin City Sinners (the band that Todd is in) every Saturday, but I was also privileged to see Judas Priest and Billy Squier twice.  I was able to meet Billy in Henderson near my home at one of his performances and he invited me to his next show in Los Angeles.  It was great to meet him and enjoy his music again.

In September I traveled to California with my friends William and David while William took a class there.  I was so happy to see many old friends and to visit my old alma mater Cal State Fullerton.  It was great spending time with my professor Larry Johnson.  I give him credit for keeping me in school because I was ready to quit until I saw his class drawing outside.  Meeting him changed my mind about quitting, and he still advises me to this day.

I was reunited with my friend Cara, and she made it possible for my family and I to see her husband perform at Mandalay Bay in December.  He is "Larry the Cable Guy" and I knew he was one of my dad's favorite comedians.  My dad came out all the way from Kansas and my sister came from Oregon -- we had a great time and made some good memories.

I'm already working on several projects, as always, and I will surprise you with them as they happen.  Thanks for your support!
